Baba ganoush (or aubergine pâté)

Would you like to eat something super tasty and that at a first sight you had never thought that it was that good? Here is the solution. Its appearance is not the best thing, since at the end it is a pâté and it is not very attractive visually. If you are a bit averse to change, most probably you will not be willing to taste it, and you will even pull a face… but is it that good? Are you sure?

The strange thing is that when you try it, you will not be able to stop; you will get hooked on its flavor and if you eat it with pita bread, it will turn into a sort of addiction for snacks and appetizers that you would like to have in your table for any celebration.

Make the most of this opportunity… and try it by yourself!


Ingredients for 4 people

2 aubergines
1 tablespoon of olive oil (I have used extra virgin)
1 tablespoon of tahini (sesame cream)
1 clove of garlic
1,5 tablespoons of lemon juice
salt, pepper and sweet paprika



Cut aubergines longitudinally into halves and bake them in the oven, with peel on top for around 40 minutes, until they are soft.

Let them retrieve room temperature and when they are cool, peel them and cut them into small cubes.

Mix aubergine cubes with the rest of ingredientes and crush it in a mixer until you have an homogeneous batter.

Before serving, decorate it with a sprinkle of vegetable oil and a bit of paprika. Eat it with pita bread.


To be considered

If you do not have tahini, you can crush by yourself one tablespoon of sesame seeds, or add it to the mixture before mixing it.

If you do not have pita bread, you can also serve it with any other type, even with the one in the photos it is great ;).
